Pay-Per-Click (PPC)

The internet marketing is increasing in a more rapid pace than any other marketing method.

Pay-Per-Click (PPC) or Paid Search is an internet marketing technique for the major search engines, Google and Yahoo.  Companies create marketing campaigns based on key phrases that are shown in selected places presented by the search engine. The advertiser pays the search engine only when a person "clicks" on the advertisement that is presented based on the key word/phrase entered, and visits the company's website or landing page.

This method works like an auction of key words or phrases, and the amount each advertiser is willing to pay for the appearance of the advertisement based on those. The higher the amount an advertiser is willing to pay, the higher the advertisement will appear in the search engine result pages.

Following are steps to create a PPC campaign;

  • Research and selection of key words and phrases that a potential customer may enter to find products and services offered by the company.

  • Research similar campaigns that run by the competition.

  • Develop a campaign and monitor and analyze the results.

  • Improve the PPC campaign.

The benefits of a well planned PPC campaign are:

  • Increase in the traffic to the website with people that are looking for what you are selling.

  • Increase the conversion rate of "lookers" to "customers".

  • Low cost of advertising (if done correctly) versus the traditional methods of mass marketing.
